Gawu Soyo Beach Red Sand Beach in North Sumatra

This beach is still a natural and unspoilt beach in Nias.

Playa rosa is a beach of pink or red sand. This unique character can not only be found on Komodo Island, but also on a beach in North Sumatra called Gawu Soyo Beach. The beach of Gawu Soyo Nias is located in the village of Ombolata, the district of Afulu, the regency of Nias del Norte, or about 80 kilometers from the center of Gunungsitoli. The beach is still awake, visitors rarely visit this place.

This beach has a unique aspect compared to other beaches. It is unique because of the beaches that are blood red or pink. In Nias, Gawu means Soyo red sand beach. Gawu Soyo is the only pink beach on the island of Sumatra. That said, the pink color that comes from the snake Haria (version of the Naga snake) that successfully killed Satria Laowomaru in the cave of the snake that is eight kilometers from Gawu Soyo. The blood of the serpent flowed to the village of Ombolata Afulu and lasted until now.

The red sand beach stretches for 1 kilometer. The sand on this site also has a smooth structure. That's why it's very comfortable to use on foot. Along the coast there are also many trees grown, so this beach does not look dry and hot. This beach is still a natural and unspoilt beach in the north of Nias. There are still some visitors that come to this place. Not only that, the facilities available are also minimal.

To get to this beach, you can get there with two-wheeled vehicles or four-wheeled vehicles. But for those of you who want to visit the beach, it is recommended to bring food, because there is not yet a restaurant available. In this place, you may also have the opportunity to observe more closely the existence of rare turtles. But witnessing the existence of rare turtles is a fortune here. This beach is often visited by turtles that come from their habitat and cross the coast.
