Air Manis Beach is located in Teluk Kabung District, Padang Regency, West Sumatra or about fifteen kilometers from downtown Padang. This place is a popular tourist destination because of the story of Malin Kundang, the legendary son of anarchy. Visitors can see the famous sightings of the Malin Kundang Stone from close up. Malin Kundang is a legendary figure of West Sumatra. It is said that Malin Kundang, opposed to his mother, was cursed for being a rock. On this beach, you can see the Malin Kundang stone and the equipment of the ship turned stone. Not far from Malin Kundang Stone is a small island called Little Banana Island. The distance to the location Batu Malin Kundang is only about 500 m.

To get to the small banana island, visitors can rent a boat or reach it on foot. However, if you walk, return to Air Manis Beach immediately before 4:00 pm water time, as seawater normally starts to settle. Some guest houses, mainly managed by locals, can be found here. In addition, there are also restaurants and kiosks with various souvenirs. To enter this non-sandy beach, you will need to pay IDR 5000 and you will normally be "dropped off" at the local guard or warung. For those who have never been to this beach, Batu Malin Kundang is not immediately found because it disguises itself with other rocks.

The beach also offers cottages that can be rented if you want to enjoy the cool coastal breeze. A cottage is offered at a cost of Rp. 20,000 and you can relax as much as you like. In addition to swimming or relaxing on the beach, you can buy souvenirs in the form of coral reefs and shells in various forms at a price of 5,000 to 50,000 rupees. Air Manis Beach is only fifteen kilometers from downtown Padang. The approach of the place is quite easy. You can use private vehicles or public transport. The road is from downtown Padang, you can take the road that leads to Teluk Bayur. From here you can go directly to the beach. If you use public transport, you can take the Padang Bungus bus from the center of Padang.
