The National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall was built in the heart of Taipei City and was commemorated by former President Chiang Kai-Shek. The Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall was established in 1980 and covers a total area of 250,000 square meters. The memorial hall has a large surface and is covered with the colors of the Taiwanese flag: blue, white and red, the colors of the flag symbolize independence, equality and universal love. Since 2007 it is known as the National Historic Site of Taiwan. The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is now an important monument in Taipei and attracts many visitors every year.
The room, once a former office in Chiang Kai-Shek, has various facilities for each area. Visitors can view historical archives, valuable preserved photographs and old objects of the former president in the historical exhibition hall. Through these exhibitions visitors can understand the historical characteristics of Taiwan. Chiang Kai-Shek vehicles can also be seen in the central corridor. Next to the main monument are the National Theater and the National Concertgebouw on the corner of the detainee.
